EMTS 2025 – Young Scientist Awards (EMTS-YSA)
A limited number of Young Scientist Awards (EMTS-YSA) are available at the EMTS 2025. To qualify for an YSA, an applicant must
- be under 35 years of age on June 23, 2025;
- be the principal author of a paper, accepted for presentation at the Conference.
All successful applicants are expected to participate fully in the scientific activities of the Conference. Successful applicants will receive:
- free registration for the EMTS 2025 and the “URSI Commission B School for Young Scientists”;
- a free banquet ticket;
- a prize money of 500EUR;
- a corresponding certificate.
Limited funds up to 1k EUR per applicant will also be available upon request as contributions to travel costs of successful applicants from developing countries.
Every EMTS-YSA applicant must submit:
- a Summary Paper conforming and following the guidelines on the submission page. Please submit a PDF with four (4) pages and remember to select the YSA-track;
- separate PDFs with a CV and a list of accepted publications.
Submissions must use the following file naming convention, where “Lastnameauthor” text is replaced by the student’s surname and “Firstnameauthor” text is replaced by the student’s first name: YSASummaryLastnameauthorFirstnameauthor.pdf, YSACVLastnameauthorFirstnameauthor.pdf, YSAPubListLastnameauthorFirstnameauthor.pdf
The application deadline is January 26, 2025.
The Young-Scientist Program Committee (YSPC) will review the applications and select the awardees. All EMTS-YSA applicants are notified of the results by email by mid of March. Every successful applicant must confirm by the end of March that he/she will attend EMTS 2025. The list of YSA awardees will be announced on the EMTS 2025 website.
Young Scientist Best Paper Award
All papers selected for the EMTS Young Scientist Award are subject to further evaluation for the Young Scientist Best Paper Awards. Each Young Scientist applicant presents his/her paper in a regular session and in addition in a special YSA Poster Session on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The YSPC selects three winners based on the papers and on the poster presentations. The three winners receive a corresponding Certificate and an additional prize money of:
- 1st prize: 1500 €
- 2nd prize: 1000 €
- 3rd prize: 750€.
The Young Scientist Awards and the Young Scientist Best Paper Awards will be presented during the EMTS 2025 banquet.
