The 25th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory (EMTS 2025) will be hosted in Aule Belmeloro, a campus of the University of Bologna located in via Beniamino Andreatta 8, Bologna, Italy.

This university district has a strategic position in the heart of the city. It is just 15-minute walk from the city center, 25-minute walk from the train station of Bologna and about 30-minute car from the Bologna airport. The city offers various transport links that allow to reach the location in a very short time. The most recommended public transport to move around the city is the bus.

The venue is well connected to the rest of the city by several and efficient bus routes. Few bus lines to reach the conference venue are here reported.

  • Line 32: connects the train station of Bologna to the Venue in just 10 minutes. (Start stop: Bologna Centrale, End stop: Porta San Vitale).
  • Line 101: connects the bus station of Bologna to the venue in just 10 minutes. (Start stop: Bologna Autostazione, End stop: Porta San Vitale).
  • Line 14: connects the city center to the Venue in 15 minutes. (Start stop: Rizzoli, End stop: Porta San Vitale).

Places to visit in Bologna

The city offers a glimpse into the beautiful history and culture of Italy. Here is a list of the best places to visit in Bologna.

  • Piazza Maggiore is a central square in Bologna. The square is surrounded by major administrative and religious buildings in the history of Bologna, including Palazzo d’Accursio, Palazzo dei Notai, Palazzo del Podestà and more. You can spend a good time here taking pictures and having evening snacks!
  • St. Petronius Church is dedicated to the patron saint of the city, Saint Petronius, who was the bishop of Bologna in the fifth century.
  • Two Towers of Bologna are symbols of Bologna and the most prominent towers of the city. The taller one is called the Asinelli. The smaller tower with a greater lean is called the Garisenda. The two towers have been constructed between 1109 and 1119.
  • The Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca is a basilica church in Bologna, northern Italy, sited atop a forested hill, Colle or Monte della Guardia, 300 meters above the city plain, just south-west of the historical centre of the city. While a road now leads up to the sanctuary, it is also possible to reach it along a 3.8 km monumental roofed arcade (Porticoes of Bologna) consisting of 666 arches, which was built in 1674–1793. The sanctuary offers panoramic views of the surroundings and it is one of the top places to visit around Bologna.

Bologna is one of the largest student cities in Italy. With so many students in the city, it’s not surprising that there’s a lot to do in the city, including enjoying the city’s nightlife which is dynamic, young, and fun. No matter where you decide to go for drinks or a night out, you’ll find plenty of other students to enjoy with.
